Weekend October 26, 27, 2013

My Daddy could not resist buying this poncho for me.  Cobii likes to chase me around Oma's kitchen.

Lunch with carrots!

I even have a horse to ride!

A snack of yogurt is always good.

Fingers are sometimes better than the spoon.  Oma helped me finish.  I would have rather done it myself, but Oma did a pretty good job.

Jacobii stayed the entire weekend with me.  We had fun, learned a few things in the craft department.  Patches and Olivia visited for a few hours in Saturday.  James was home with his Daddy while Carrie was at her girlfriend's house for the day.

Beautiful Weather for Working in Yard 10/20/2013

To those that have visited my new house have had the pleasure of seeing these two unsightly tree stumps.  I never did find out who dug them up and just left them on the front yard so close to the house.

They finally just rotted away except for ALL the dirt in the roots.  I now have pretty much a mud pile.  That will be redistributed around the yard or driveway to whichever low spot needs it the most.

I do not know why the shed looks like it is aslant.  I assure you that it is not.  Wait - what is that flying over?

It is the Goodyear Blimp!  That was awesome and different to see.

Lunchtime walk 10/16/13

Today at lunch time, I walked to the post office which is 1.5 miles round trip.  It was a beautiful day, and the part of town I work in has buildings that were built in the early 1800's.  Today the statues at two of the churches I walked past caught my eye.  They were especially pretty just because the day and the light seemed perfect.
This was way atop the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church built in 1810.

In front of Catholic Church

Also in front of Catholic Church

This was in front of the First Presbaterian Church.  Could not find a date but I did not look that hard either.

This is where one would get on or off their horse at the Richmond Academy.  It is now vacant but used during the arts festival.  Also early 1800's.

Sunday, October 13, 2013 My yard

James
I had another awesome picture of James.  Not sure how I took it with my new camera, but it will not show when I select it.  Just a big red X in a box.
Our tea party

Playing in the yard

James again.

Riverbanks Zoo, Columbia, SC 10-12-2013

Arriving at zoo.  It was a very beautiful sunny day.  Olivia just kept saying "amals, see amals"

Could not get her away from the fish.  Had to go back again before the trip home.

Picture of crane.  Some of this post are pictures so everyone can see what my new camera does.

Melissa now knows how to milk a cow!

Olvia has to sit in every "seat" she sees.

Another seat next to Mommy.

Oma also had fun!

Just a cute picture.

He is so pretty!

Beautiful colors in this critter.

Summer Vacation

The week of August 12 was vacation time for me again with my friends from NY.  We had the best time in Pigeon Forge and Gatlingburg, TN  The weather could not have been any more perfect.  Anyone going, must go to Parrot Mountain.  A mountain it is, but well worth the trip.

Along the 8 mile arts and crafts community, we stopped at a pottery shop called Allewine.  These two wonderful gentlemen sit and play all day.  There are lots of rocking chairs to sit in and free popcorn.  IBC root beers are only $1.00.  Such a nice place to sit and relax.

This little cabin was along the same arts and crafts loop in front of a gallery which we did not go in, but could not resist the picture
Some of you will know that this is where we stayed.  Such a nice place!
This is the 200 ft high ferris wheel we rode on in Pigeon Forge.  It is in a new community in the process of being built and to open in the spring.  Of course, there are going to be lots of shops and housing.  Awesome ride.
Just having fun, riding around and taking pictures.  This was taken at Hatfield/McCoy place that we did not go in, just took pictures of their stuff.  Check out the sign in the back.
We had the most wonderful vacation.  Since we stayed longer in one spot this year, we were not so pushed to get things done.  We got all accomplished on our list and then some.  It was relaxing.

Family Day August 3, 2012

This Saturday was "girls day out at Oma's".  We little ones played in the water, and I fell in the mud!  Aren't I cute?

After our Moms cleaned us up from the water and mud, we played "trade" chairs.  We laughed and giggled so hard.  It was amazing how we played together instead of always fighting.  We laughed and giggled a whole lot.

Then we danced on the coffee table until we made Mom (Aunt Frog)  very nervous.  She said "times up!"

The dinner table is just so funny!

I have the cup mastered!  Also, I bit a hole in my one and only pacifier, and I do not have that any more.  It was the same pacifier I had when I was born.

We had such a wonderful day!  Jacobii only made a short appearance as she was having company at her house to play with.

Vacation is just around the corner, so next time will be vacation photos.

Babysitting

I am back again.  Patches and Howard were both very sick with a stomach virus, so I picked Olivia up at daycare and brought her home for the evening and most of the next day.  What great pleasure to play with her rather than go to work.  She was playing on the ottoman, stand up, sit down, lay down.  Was of great concern that she would fall, so missed a lot of shots.

Catch Up Time

I decided it was time to get back to the blogging since I enjoy my sister's and niece's so much.  Since I last blogged, I now have two more wonderful grandchildren, a boy belonging to my oldest daughter and a girl belonging to my youngest daughter.

My oldest grandchild, Jacobii had her 7th birthday at Chucky Cheese.  All the kids had fun anyway.  I chose to eat elsewhere.  Two pictures are from the birthday.  Cobii doing a chicken impersonation and a picture of her cake that my daughter stayed up until 4AM to finish. The reason for the pink western theme is because Cobii's favorite color is pink and she also rides horses.

Roy and Olivia.  This was so amazing as this was the very first time Olivia has ever let Roy touch her or even look at her.  She always cried when he was around her which is real strange as she LOVES men, the hairier the better, and Roy is that!  Also check out Carrie's hair.

Next - Olivia, James and Oma!  Boy, what a load - 50lbs in all.  20 for Olivia and 30 for James.

And now for a couple of things in my yard.

See the baby bird.  There were 2 in the golf cart.  Had weeks I could not use the cart cause of them.  The eggs did get a couple short rides though out of necessity.

Turtle that happened through my yard.  My new kitty was only 1.5 lbs so you know how big the turtle was.  I will get pictures of the kitty another time.  He does not hold still long enough to get a good picture.  I have lots of blurry pictures.  Guess I need to use the setting for fast moving objects.

Lillies from sister-in-law Mary.  These flowers are huge and have kept blooming and blooming for a very long time.  She gave me two bulbs last year and they have multiplied quite nicely.

My curly cactus in bloom.  The flowers only stay for a few hours, and that is usually at night.  I just happened to finally catch one that I could get a picture of after having the plant for 3 years..

I believe my updating the blog is enough shock for one day.  Until next time.  God Bless
