Nov 5, 2011 Baby Shower

Hard work getting ready for a shower.  This was before.  Stayed up all night making a cake.

Pretty cake, nap was needed.

A crib for the gifts.

Rick got the best pictures.  I sort of had no time to take any, but her gots lots and lots.  I will get them from his camera the next time I see him.  It was a WONDERFUL Shower!

Some of my Critters

Since Amanda has been posting some of her critters, I thought I would post some of mine.  I have more, just have to remember where they are in either the computer or on CD.  Yesterday I watched a wren start to build a nest in my asparagas fern, and by the time I got home, it was done and cozy looking.

Of course, this is Oliver.  He just had to settle in in a box ready for the dumpster in the yard.  Think he wanted me to feel sorry for him and hold him on my lap, but I was dressed for work waiting on the car pool to come.

After a good rain storm this past spring, a LOT of robins were in my yard just wallowing in the water.

As much as I cannot stand squirrels in my yard, they are cute as they can be.

Another critter I do not like in my yard is noisy woodpeckers, although they are a very pretty bird.

Now I will have to catch up later on some fun times I have had in the past month or so.

Back again!

I have been away much longer than I thought for.  In those months, a lot has been going on.  We have spent time poolside at my house!

Have had a Welding Graduate!

Also experienced a storm or two at my house.  Looks like these on all four sides of my house, but none touched the house!  Thank you Lord!

Got the news that I am going to be an Oma again!

Went on vacation in Helen, GA with Carrie, her friend Heather, Cobii and myself.  What a fun relaxing time we had.  Found lots of "Oma" things there.  Heather's boss gives his employees a week at this resort in Helen.  She invited us to go along with her.  She is such a wonderful person and has been Carrie's best and truest friend since Kindergarten or so.  You know she is a good person as she is a Wilson!

See Sandie Slide!  That was fun.

I have been quite busy at home trying to get the yard together before the hot weather hit.  It hit alright with storms that left me MORE work!  Also Roy had a motor cycle accident, but thankfully he was not hurt bad.  He was traveling about 35 mph and someone going 65mph hit him from behind.  That person never hit his brakes!  Wonder what he was doing or where his mind was.

I have also been working in my house, rearranging, adding some more decor, and spending a lot of time with Cobii.  She is so much fun!

Work at ZEL has been very swamped.  I finally after months have had a chance to breathe AND catch up my blog.

Will try to keep up more often.  Since I do not have internet at home, I have to find free time at work of which that free time was just taken away from me.  Until next time.........

Company from NY

Tuesday, Feb. 22, was a very warm sunny day (80°) and everyone from NY had a great time.  Dorothy's Mom Fran and Ma had a nice visit.  Borrowed the table from work to have room for everyone.

Sitting in the yard was also nice.
 Walking was even more fun.
Then it was time to pack and go home.
Dorothy, Ma, Me, Dorothy7's sister Denise.
It was so nice to see everyone.  We had such a wonderful visit.  Sure will miss them.

Tea Party

Sunday I took Cobii to a tea party birthday for one of her classmates. The party was in a tea room, and the two ladies decorated just beautifully for the occasion.  There was face painting, Dutchess Sarah Ferguson's book was read, and there was dress up time for pictures. Carrie and Jason had to go to a funeral, so that is why I took her. The girls had such a fun time, and LOTS of sweets.

This is my recent most favorite picture of Cobii.  She was the only one that wore a hot to the tea party.

The cake was beautiful, and they put the candles in the tea cup. Cake was very dry but had good flavor.

The girl at the end of the table was the birthday girl.  Katelyn

This was dress up time.  They only got 5 min to dress up for pictures.  I thought that was sort of disappointing for the girls, but they still had fun.

Plants and Things

There has been a little more progress on the desk.  Worked on that Saturday.  By the time I got to work on it, the sun was starting to go down bringing some chill and wind.

I got a phone call yesterday asking if I wanted any houseplant cuttings.  Yeah I went and got them, way too many, but I took care of most of them.  I still have a bucket full of amarillas bulbs to go.  Here are some of them and where shall I put them!

These were easy to find a home for:

Oh! I have found a home for the big potted plants!

See how the asparagus fern has found its way into the window.  Those shoots were not there when I put the plant there.

And a cheese omelet for brunch!

Monday storm day from work January 10, 2011

Two days in a row from me!  Wow! Bad weather day off from work.

Our crazy weather is really getting crazy!  Our little neck of the woods got no where the storm that everyone else around us got.  Yes, we have the ice, just got almost no snow.  My car looks like it is crying.

Yesterday I got some more of my current project worked on.  Moving right along.  Oops, just noticed top right handle put back on crooked!

The violas look soooo cold, but will be so bright and pretty when everything melts.

No riding this today!  If you zoom in, you can see it is coated in ice.

They now have stickies for the wall that are OK for the wall.  Cobii copied the picture on the cover.  Can you tell she picked her own socks out?  She did not have her stool to be tall enough to look in the drawer, so she just reached and took two.  Her house not mine.

This is a shot from the front steps.  See how far away from my door I park?  Glad I got that nice wagon, especially on grocery day.

Current Project

I had decided months ago that my new hobby was going to be refinishing furniture.  Below is a desk I just picked up at Salvation Army for $25.  The right top drawer needed a tad bit of glue, so it was setting to dry.

Below you will see that there is no physical damage - just needs a refinish.  Sorry, if this program has a flip option, I forgot to turn these pictures.  Sense they are not people, it would still get the affect.

I really like the carpentry work.

I got the sander I wanted for Christmas, so below you see what my new sander will do in 20 minutes.  This project will go fast!

So this is my blog for this time!
