Ice Storm February 12, 2014

To show how things were covered so thick in ice

The Dafne bush seems to be OK in ice also.

Bulbs were a little hidden in the ice - not snow.  We got a LOT of sleet and it just kept coming and coming, then turned to slush, rain, then sleet again.

Is a bird house but usually the bees live in it in Summer.

This was my most severe damage other than the power lines down for four and a half days.  My property faired pretty well, then again, I had already lost all the trees from the fire anyway.

Seems funny, but the pansies do like ice and snow.  Now the weather is pushing 80° this week and will be 70° for high Saturday and then we will get a bit cooler weather.  OH YEAH, we had an earthquake 4.1 on Valentines Day.  Since we had the terrible storm, etc. most of the stores sold almost none of their valentine candy and other stuff, and most all restaurants were closed and lost that business.  My My, what did people do on Valentines without candy and dinner?

Snow Storm January 28, 2014

January 28 was fun!  We had a snow storm leaving about 1.5" of snow on the ground.  Those of you that have visited, notice no trees in yard.  Looks so different.

Holly tree seemed OK with the snow.

The dafne bush was probably in shock, but was OK.

Front yard is so bare with the trees gone.  Last big one removed about a month ago.

This is my Dafne bush.  Those little flowers have the most awesome sweet aroma like nothing I have ever smelled before.

Mary found this picture in Rick's stuff.  I am getting closer to getting my blog to work.  I just went through typing the address in the address box rather than click on my shortcut.  BUT I could not type without having a picture and this one was quite handy. 

I am going to try and change Olivia's first birthday to second!  We will see if I can.  If not - take note - she IS 2 years old.

So cold, I had to wear Mommy's had and gloves.  Under all the garments there is an Olivia.



Got a new bike that someone can help me go and I think I am doing it all by myself.
